Many seven and eight figure homes in the District tend to sit on the market for months or years, but Donald Rumsfeld is not having this problem. Apparently, if one is a two-time Secretary of Defense, they have the power to scare up a buyer with great ease: the 5,115 square foot home went under contract late last week. The seven bedroom home had been listed privately for some time but only went on the open market under two weeks ago. Admittedly, the enormous home does include a rather nice solarium that opens up into a greenhouse and swimming pool: something particularly useful during this time of year. No word as to whether the pending sale is for the asking price of $4.495 million or not, but stay tuned to this space as we receive news and enjoy the listing photos after the jump.
