Art Yards Shows The Poetry Of A Partially Destroyed Mural

Five months after Art Yards turned a doomed government building into a massive community art project, it's become clear that the original installation did not show the building in its most interesting state. The former home of the National Geo-Spatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) is now partially destroyed, which means that there are all sorts of bricks and debris coming out of Kelly Towles' giant dinosaur. It actually adds to the striking grotesque features. Imagine what the building will look like when the rainbow-splattered facade is half gone. To be fair, it's a little nicer when the artist actually knows that their work is ephemeral. Take a look at the other shots of the wreckage after the jump.
