Take note, other spots on the National Register of Historic Places: there's no need to take yourself too seriously. Congressional Cemetery sure doesn't. A local Redditor noticed that they currently have a print ad out now with the tag line, "You Don't Have To Be Rich Or Famous To Be Buried In Congressional Cemetery. You Just Have To Be Dead." As it happens, there are plenty of famous people buried in this graveyard including composer John Philip Sousa and former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover. Then again, this is the place responsible for bringing eco-goats to their grounds and running the advertising campaign four years ago with the tag line, "Join the District's oldest underground community."
