Aerial View From 1962 Shows One Of D.C.'s Nutso Intersections

Currently, the intersection of Missouri and Florida Avenue NW is a frustrating reminder that this list of D.C.'s most heinous cross streets could use an update. The weird curve that Missouri takes from one side of Georgia to the other is extremely clear in this aerial shot from 1962. Still, this is a good look at Brightwood in the time well before the Wal-Mart. Some of those buildings, particularly the Wardman row houses and the businesses on the southwest corner are still there. It even looks like there's a different and smaller gas station on the southeast corner where the BP stands right now. Thanks to Old Time D.C. for the find.
