This ought to ruffle a few feathers in Wards 7 & 8: a new alcohol delivery service is coming to D.C. this week, but not all of D.C. Ultra, will start delivering liquor to those who sign up for free accounts in D.C. starting next week between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. However, Ultra founder Aniket Shah told City Desk that he doesn't want to send delivery people in places where they "feel that the area is not safe for them." Although The Advoc8te has not yet had her way with that comment, one City Paper commenter already has, stating, "The company should have hired a "community manager in D.C." before making this announcement and insulting broad swaths of the city before they even open for business." Additionally, it's been established that this part of the city has no shortage of liquor stores but a definite shortage of alcohol-serving restaurants and bars.
