At long last, the revamped Petworth Safeway which will anchor new mixed-use project The Swift has an opening date: June 27th. Whether Petworth residents will refer to this one as the Swift Safeway as its nickname is yet to be seen, but at least they can rejoice at not having to haul up to the Piney Branch Safeway or down to the Columbia Heights Giant.
