The three years that it took to repair the cracks to the Washington Monument may seem like a long time, but the damage that the 2012 earthquake did to the National Cathedral has still yet to be dealt with 100%. The cathedral still needs to raise another $16 million before they can get to work on repairs to the central tower and even fear that those repairs could take another eight years to complete.
