In honor of the new student housing that will come to the George Washington University campus, here are some photos of the school ranging from the late 1950s to early 1960s. While some of the more historic buildings don't look terribly different from the outside, the style of automobile parallel parked on the sidewalks absolutely dates the photos. Plus, the snowdrifts on 20th and G Street suddenly make all of the winter weather we experienced a little less terrible. Additionally, the 1950s, they didn't need to hold their commencement ceremonies on The National Mall to accommodate the crowds.
