The Humor Lab in Denver thinks that D.C. is the fourth funniest city in the nation. The cities that are funnier than ours: Chicago, Boston and Atlanta. So even though most comedians that aren't in Second City work out of New York and LA, those two metro areas actually rank below the District. Ha. To be fair, this is the region that produced such comics as Dave Chappelle, Patton Oswalt, Wanda Sykes and more recently, Rory Scovel and Erin Jackson (seen above). Apparently, D.C. is also a city where the residents apparently want funny lovers more than funny friends. This is somewhat hard to believe, and as proof, there's a comedy show happening tonight (that was profiled by The Washington Post) entitled Sadness Town. Perhaps the funniest part of this study is that the sample joke in D.C.'s humor profile sounds an awful lot like a Yakov Smirnoff bit. Stop us if you've heard this one: "Knock, knock. Who's there? KGB. KGB who? (Knocker smacks the responder) We will ask the questions!"
