Since opening in this past fall, Culture Coffee has sought to become the center of culture and community development around Kennedy Street NW. It has doubled as art gallery and live performance venue and when the newly minted Kennedy Street Development Association met for the first time to discuss how to enliven the neighborhood, they met at Culture Coffee. Now, as of about two weeks ago it also has this cool mural on the west side of the building. The paintings of cultural artifacts from around the globe (and right here in the District) are a nice touch and add to the wealth of great street art that's far more prevalent farther south in Columbia Heights, Petworth and Adams Morgan.
