Sorry angry Chevy Chase residents, but The Purple Line just got a $100 million boost from the Federal government. The proposed Maryland light rail is one of seven transit projects nationwide that Obama has included in his 2015 budget as grant recipients. The full cost of building the Purple Line is estimated at $2.2 billion and the state of Maryland is still looking for a private firm to help build the line and offset some of the cost. [WaPo]
