The race for D.C.'s most pet-friendly condo building just took an interesting turn. City Market at O long looked like it had the lead with its rooftop dog park and pet pampering station, but Sky House also has a pet grooming space for its residents' spoiled rotten dogs. Now, entering the race is NoMa's 2M, pre-leasing this summer, which will have its own communal dog.
Although 2M's prior claim to fame had been its environmentally friendly aspects, green living is now an expectation of D.C.'s condo living rather than a selling point. A cute English bulldog puppy named Emmy with its own Instagram account however is completely unique. Anyone living at the building can pick Emmy up from the lobby, play with her and then bring her back. Still, one WaPo commenter wonders aloud whether this stunt is such a great idea for Emmy: "A communal dog? Nice for the residents, but not so good for the dog, which won't be able to bond with one or two specific individuals."
