Shut It

Try to keep the drunken shouting to a minimum this weekend. A Dupont citizens group, D.C. Nightlife Noise Coalition, has been patrolling bars near Connecticut Avenue with a sound meter in an effort to get officials to uphold the Noise Control Act, which limits noise levels at night to 60 decibels. And now the City Paper reports that their efforts have paid off: the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration will start a noise laws campaign, with increased noise checks and possible warnings and fines.
