DCA's New Airport Spa: Not The Unique Amenity It Seems

Has the news spread yet to all four quadrants that Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) will receive publicly available iPads and a spa as part of its Terminal A renovations? Surely a full-service spa, which is sorely needed in that horribly busy and stressful place with un-intuitive security checkpoint lines is a first for airports everywhere!

It's not. A quick browser search for "airport spas" reveals that XpresSpa (who has not been specifically named as the tenant at DCA) has almost 100 open locations. Some of the larger airports like New York's JFK, Los Angeles' LAX and San Francisco's SFO actually have airport spas in multiple terminals. It's not even the first airport spa in the DMV since Baltimore-Washington International actually offers facials, massages and mani-pedis in two different terminals. Still, it's a welcome addition to the area's only metro accessible airport.
