Mayor-Elect Bowser Makes #FreshStart With Old Projects

Flourishing her tweets with a #freshstart hashtag, Muriel Bowser isn't being too subtle as she enters her term in office. While she's been criticized for being scarce on housing and development legislation, she'll have to get used to it with a number of projects she'll be adopting as D.C. Mayor. These projects include the H Street streetcar that was originally promised to begin in 2014, the redrawing of school boundaries for greater school-access equity, and the need for more homeless shelters. Some of the biggest developments Bowser will have to take on include acquiring land for the D.C. United Stadium, bidding for the 2024 Summer Olympics, and the commencement of the St. Elizabeth's east project.
