A new project in Hill East has just been announced with 10 units planned above La Lomita, a Mexican restaurant. The 1330-1336 Pennsylvania Avenue building will convert its existing two-story commercial building into a three-story mixed-use development above the restaurant. In an application filed Monday with the Board of Zoning Adjustments, the development is described as "much-needed" in the neighborhood. There are requests for relief from lot occupancy and the Zoning regulation of one parking spot for every two units. According to the application, underground or at grade parking is "not feasible." The building is 500 feet from the Potomac Avenue Metro. No word yet on an estimated date of completion.
