Peace Corps

In a unanimous vote, a proposed Peace Corps memorial was struck down by the ANC — or at least the location was.The memorial was set to be built on the triangle of parkland bounded by C Street, Louisiana Avenue, and First Street, NW, according to Hill Now. If built there, the construction would harm two trees and take over park space. The National Park Service is continuing to look at other sites for the memorial. [HN]
