The D.C. Streetcar project is ready to launch, but it looks like some paperwork is holding up the process. The $160 million project has already tested its six streetcar service by riding through H Street and Benning Road in Northeast Washington, but it's yet to complete a safety certification process. With multiple incomplete or incorrect submissions sent to the District's Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department, one WAMU source describes the oversight as "looking foolish." For now, it looks like the November grand opening for D.C.'s streetcars will be unlikely. There is no estimated start date for the streetcars as of yet. [WAMU]
