Residential/Retail Project in Columbia Heights Breaks Ground

New, 1 comment

Looking for new space to live in Columbia Heights? A new development recently broke ground on 14th and Quincy Streets, NW and involves the construction of a 30,000-square-foot building with 3,000-square-feet of retail and four levels of residential space. The 20 residential units inside the residential space will include two-bedroom, two-bathroom units as well as affordable housing. There's no way to know what the units will look like just yet as the interior design finishes will be finalized later in the construction process.

For the building, itself, the design is described as "a blend of modern aesthetic and traditional materials," according to project architect Christopher Peli. The building will have a red-brick exterior with floor-to-ceiling glassy bay windows and a glass canopy for the residential entry. Some highlights of this new development include a roof deck, indoor bicycle storage, and underground and surface-level parking. The budget for the project has not been disclosed. The estimated date of completion is summer 2015.
