New Art, Retail, and Residential Spaces on U Street for 2015

New, 1 comment

The location is just a vacant lot at the moment, but within the next 12 months, U Street will have new LEED-certified residential and retail spaces with live-work units for artists. The project involves the construction of two buildings that are named ArtView and H-Space. ArtView will include six condo units in a four-story building and a retail or commercial tenant in the 2,500-square-foot ground floor. H-Space will be constructed and located behind ArtView and will include an undetermined amount of live-work units for artists as well as a space to showcase works from local artists in and around Washington, D.C. Plans are in the works by developer Paul So, founder of Hamiltonian Artists , to ensure that ArtView will be a LEED Gold building. The estimated date of completion for the project is by the end of 2015. One-bedroom and two-bedroom condo units will begin being sold within four to six months before the delivery date with a likely listing price in the $700,000s.
