The Rent Is Too Damn High — In These Nabes, Specifically

It's well documented that the housing prices have been periodically increasing in the D.C. area. Unsurprisingly, so has the rent. In fact, this snapshot of Trulia's heatmap of the city shows that the average rent in some Northwest neighborhoods is on the astronomical side. Specifically, who would have thought that Columbia Heights had a higher average rent than Georgetown or Foggy Bottom? More people most be renting in Columbia Heights. While this map only shows average rents in Northwest, stay tuned to this space for a look at average rental prices east of North Capitol Street and east of the river later this week. For the time being, their heat map indicates that NoMa and Navy Yard have some pretty high average rents as well.
