Embassy of Zimbabwe Is Not Moving, So Why The Huge Sign?

This morning, a tipster gave us the heads up that an intriguing sign had popped up in front of the Embassy of Zimbabwe. In fact the sign is not just intriguing, but enormous, so everyone walking down New Hampshire Avenue can see the red and white lettering that states, "Sealed Bid Sale/Now Accepting Bids/Elegant Embassy Style Mansion with Elevator and Parking." However, when Curbed called the Embassy, a representative stated that they were not going anywhere. They did not disclose what was being sold or to what the sign was referring only saying, "That's the bottom line. We're not changing location." So, the sign may well refer to the sale a different property but either way, if anyone has their heart set on an "elegant embassy style mansion," apparently there's one available.
