Arlington Man Built the Childhood Treehouse He Never Had

This treehouse in Arlington is one of the better possible results of a broken childhood promise. Because Andrew Knight's parents never built him the treehouse he wanted when he was six, he hired a professional treehouse construction team to build a 199 square foot platform on his own property thirty years later. Despite being out $20,000, perhaps it's better that he waited. There's no way that a six year old's treehouse would have included an IKEA futon and a deck complete with furniture and a grill. Also, the decorative Christmas lights may not be terribly visible in the above photo but the two hammocks underneath the platform should be. Neighbors looking for fun nostalgia-tinged barbecues this summer, make friends with this guy.
