It looks like redevelopment is coming to Alexandria whether the "Iron Ladies" like it or not. The three self-proclaimed Alexandria residents, April Burke, Marie Kux and Beth Gibney, appealed to Virginia's Supreme Court saying that their zoning protest regarding the redevelopment plan wasn't processed by the city council in advance of their vote to approve of the plan. The court has dismissed this appeal. The planned redevelopment will turn the empty warehouse space into hotels, offices and parks. [WJLA; Photo by Mr. T in DC]
