Cab Wars

As the deadline draws close, DC cab drivers are stalling over having credit card devices installed in their cabs. The drivers must have devices installed by September 30, 2013 or present a notarized letter stating that the installation has been scheduled. About 2,000 cabs have credit card devices installed, but the backlog is extensive. DC's taxi cab drivers seem to be delaying installation due to concerns over operating the devices. The DCTC has said that if a driver does not have a credit card device installed or a notarized letter, they risk having their cab confiscated. [WJLA]
