Union Station's Beaux-Arts Loggia Is Timeless

The Loggia at Union Station, DC's bus/rail hub meets mall, functions now as it did when this picture was taken in 1969. Constructed in 1907, Union Station is an example of the City Beautiful movement, designed by Architect Daniel H. Burnham. The white granite loggia, conducting the flow of people to and from all points, adds a cool calmness to the frantic nature of commuter life.
