Monday's shooting at Navy Yard made national headlines, shook up the city and brought attention to a neighborhood usually only profiled during baseball games. The Hill Is Home reports that one Navy Yard resident, Rachel Reilly Carroll, wanted to simultaneously heal some of the pain from Monday's awful events while showing the city and the world why Navy Yard is still, for many who live there, a great neighborhood. She started the #IAmNavyYard hashtag on Facebook and Twitter and encouraged those who live and work there to state their favorite things about the area. Here are some of the points of pride that have since appeared on Twitter.
