Clearly, getting credit card readers into all D.C. cabs by September 1st was too optimistic, but getting them into all cabs by the extended deadline of October 1st might also be too unlikely. The D.C. Taxicab Commission says that now 3,064 cabs have had the new system installed, which is just above 50% of the total number of taxis. [WCP]
