What would you do with $7.5 million in renovation money? If you're Urban Investment Partners (UIP), you update a building's HVAC system to something more energy efficient and give it a green roof to boot. The 114-apartment building formerly called The Alcazar on Columbia Road also has retail tenants coming to the former lobby and a roof deck. As the spot was built in 1930, all of the renovations down to the new windows needed approval from the Historic Preservation Review Board. Only 38 of the original tenants stuck around during the renovations and we were unable to locate starting prices for the newly renovated apartments.
