One Gaithersburg resident, Laura Overman, is fed up with the lack of safety for cyclists on Montgomery County roadways and has started a petition lobbying for bike lanes on Route 108 and Muncaster Road. While Ms. Overman does not speak to specific statistics on either that road in Maryland or Montgomery County in general, a quick look at MoCo's Patch shows that there were twelve collisions and five deaths to Montgomery County cyclists and pedestrians in only the first quarter of 2013.
