Touring the Tuckernuck HQ; Redeem Moves Up 14th Street

GEORGETOWNRefinery29 DC tours the prep-tastic headquarters of Tuckernuck, a new e-commerce fashion retailer located on 1052 Potomac Street NW. The three co-founders raised $400,000 this fall for their start-up, and with men's and women's fashion and home decor in stock online, Tuckernuck's goal is to be the Urban Outfitters of the boat shoe set. LOGAN CIRCLEWashingtonian writes that badass 14th Street retailer Redeem is moving up the street to a bigger location at 1810 14th Street NW, next to the new Ted's Bulletin. Check it out at their big opening party on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where they are unveiling a new t-shirt series with a limited edition tee from artist Kelly Towles, whose work is everywhere around town lately. MEDIA WIRE — Meanwhile, author and Barneys ambassador Simon Doonan tells The New Republic that Michelle Obama has "done a terrific job of dressing appropriately." That's a compliment. But really, Doonan just wants everyone to quit writing about politicians' clothes, particularly male politicians' wardrobe choices. "They all wear red ties, for God's sake," he said.
