Today is the first day of school for students in the D.C. Public School system. Several students are returning to a new school due to the closure of their previous institution but the students of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School have a brand new building to welcome them today. Admittedly, the building has been a flurry of activity for the past week as alumni and current students have entered the school snapping photos and giving speeches in the brand new theater. Even Bill Cosby was present during the ribbon cutting ceremony. We'd previously mentioned some of our favorite new features about the new building and our photo gallery will explore them in greater detail.
