Monumental Fixes

Yesterday, workers started the process of removing the controversial "quote" on the side of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. "I was a drum major for justice, peace and righteousness" was not actually a direct quote of King's, but a paraphrasing of a line from one of his sermons. The work is expected to be finished in advance of the 50th anniversary of King's March on Washington next month. Photo by Michael Hymen. [WaPo]
