Groundbreaking will begin today on the new Monsenor Romero apartments in Mt. Pleasant. The Monsenor Romero will be rising from the ashes of the former Deauville apartments which were destroyed in a fire in the spring of 2008. The building will be offering a reduced rent on 75% of the apartments to the original residents displaced by the fire, but there will only be 63 apartments in the Monsenor Romero, as opposed to the 93 that had been at the Deauville.
