Mayor For Life and Ward 8 Council Member At Present Marion Barry is not impressed by Wal-Mart's claims that they'll leave D.C. if the living wage bill mandating higher pay for employees of large retailers is enacted. His Twitter feed is filled with numbers as to why Wal-Mart can certainly afford to pay their D.C. employees $12.50 an hour instead of the proposed $8.25 an hour. He actually gets a lot of the numbers wrong in his argument, but he makes a good point with this tweet: "NO ONE can live in DC on $8.25 hour working full time. Housing is too expensive." [WCP]
