It's finally happening. At long last, Donald and Ivanka Trump have reached a deal with the the General Services Administration regarding the conversion of the Old Post Office Pavilion (which we included on our Architectural Walking Tour) into a luxury hotel. Not that we doubted that The Donald would come through, but this has certainly taken awhile. Also, of note, he will not get the tax relief for this hotel that he had hoped to get from the District. The 260+ room hotel is planning to open in 2016, but we do not yet have information as to when the folks currently inhabiting the building (like the National Endowment of the Arts) will have to move out.
