Part of at-large councilwoman Anita Bonds' running platform was to remove the property tax for some of D.C.'s senior citizens. She's been in the office for roughly a month and has already introduced such a bill that would allow senior citizens that had been in the District for 25 years or more to stop paying tax on their property but the city's Chief Financial Officer estimates that D.C.'s tax revenue will drop $16 million in four years if this legislature is implemented.
