The Smithsonian is accepting proposals through August 1st for a 4-D Theater for its Arts & Industries building. The theater, which will be a part of the Smithsonian Innovation Space and will combine 3-D film with synchronized physical effects. Remember theme park shows where there are sprinkles of water when the video shows ocean spray or chairs that go back and forth with as the film moves throughout a location? It will be kind of like that (but more educational) and will draw roughly 1 million visitors per year. The Arts & Industries building is currently closed for renovations. [WBJ]
