A few days ago, Kojo Nnamdi had a panel discussing the difficulties of finding open places to play for the recreational leagues and sports teams of D.C. While callers brought up overhauling a couple of underutilized spaces (such as parks in Southeast), one place, Stead Park in Logan Circle, actually seems to be getting the support it needs for an upgrade. Councilmember Marion Barry of Ward 8 says that he supports upgrading the park in a more timely fashion, but would need to figure out how to move the money from the 2015 budget to the 2014 budget.
