Controversial Chevy Chase Glass Building Moves Forward

After receiving the first round of permits two months ago, the Calvin Cafritz project at 5333 Connecticut Avenue also received its permit from The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs on Tuesday. To recap, Cafritz got permission to build this 9-story apartment with cellar level parking 22 years ago, but only recently hopped to it in regards to making that building a reality. It's not subject to DC Zoning Commission regulations due to matter-of-right, and so neighbors' complaints that it's both a safety hazard and an eyesore have thus far been ignored.
