There are any number of broken and old escalators and out of service elevators in the Metro system, but WMATA just outlined a new plan won't just replace the Bethesda Metro station's extraordinarily long escalators. Bulgarian architect Ivailo Kardimov has designed a complete update for the station that includes, among other things, brighter lighting and emphasis on more modern steel and glass structures.
