An article in Capital Business reveals that in the next few weeks, a used auto dealership at the corner of 14th Street NW and Florida Avenue NW will be torn out for an apartment development. Douglas Development will build 30 apartments with ground floor retail. This building looks boring and uncontroversial enough, which might just mean this development company is turning over a new leaf. You may remember DD as the guys that built out the dome of the former Citadel roller skating rink in Adams Morgan. After they failed to lease that part of the building as offices they turned it into apartments, some of which do not have windows. (But hey, 35-foot ceilings!)
