An outspoken 82 year old resident of Hyattsville insists that after 50-years of sidewalk-free living, she'd prefer the city did not go and ruin things now. She's a resident of University Hills, which is trying to put an orthopedic foot down to a city hall mandate that Hyattsville try this "walkability" thing the kids like so much these days by adding sidewalks. At stake here is a loss of "suburban charm," a concern that this will cost the city too much money, "frets" over landscaping and "worry" about increased foot traffic in front of homes.
