Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various local neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price:$1,000.


? This is a shared basement apartment near U Street Corridor for $1,000 per month that includes utilities, maid service and internet (yes, maid service). One roommate, one dog, and very little natural light.


? This basement apartment in Alexandria is off of 395 and is $900 per month. Includes everything except cable/internet.

The next one on the list comes with a terse description, no location, and no pictures: $1150 Large basement for rent (Washington dc). It has an exit door and a laundry room and a bathroom and a large spaceous room. [sic]


? Here's a house share in a 3 bed/2 bath near Adams Morgan (19th St NW at Florida St NW). Rent is $1150 per month plus about $30 in utilities. Roommates include a talkative Pimento cheese lover and someone who likes spontaneous dance parties.


? Here's one in Arlington that is walking distance to East Falls Church Metro. Rent is $975 a month and includes all utilities, but there's no mention of who you'll be living with.

? Near Friendship Heights is this furnished room with a private bathroom for $900 a month (plus utilities).
