Decoded: The Great Outdoor Spaces Of DC Homes

Welcome back to The Brokerbabble Glossary, where we take a word or a turn of phrase that seems to show up in an unreasonable number of listings and decipher its true meaning. If you have any ideas for us, send them to the tipline. Today's word: Outdoor spaces.

Outdoor space is usually high on the list of preferred amenities for buyers because who wants to live in a box after all. We found a few listings that claim to have great yards and decks but maybe, just maybe, the description is stretching the truth. Like this Deanwood 3 bed, 1 bath that boasts about its corner lot with a large yard. Large for rodents, maybe.

? Bamboo counts as wooded now. At least it does for this house in University Park.

? We wrote about this one yesterday since the description compared it to a Maserati but it also brags about how spacious the yard is.

? This isn't technically outdoors, but is meant to make you feel like you're outside since it's a solarium. Sort of. Or, let's just call it a dining room with windows.
