The Central Union Mission off of 14th St NW has served homeless men since 1983 but soon it is moving to the former Gale School near Union Station. Said the Mission's director: "This location will also allow us to reach poor and needy people who have been pushed out of the [Northwest] corridor." At the current Mission site the plan is for a mixed-use boutique condo building shown in the rendering at right. Designed by architect Eric Colbert (who lent his pen to the Northern Exchange and forthcoming Louis buildings down the street) the new building will have about 50 units priced from $419,900 to $849,900.
