In Sight of the Trophy: Curbed Cup Second Round Recap!

Happy Holidays and thank you for spending this week when many people are still taking a vacation from their computer to vote in our 2013 Curbed Cup. Here's where we stand going into this afternoon's semifinal round.

Navy Yard knocked off the top seeded Atlas District. The H Street crowd made a strong showing, but the Capitol Riverfront voters have been coming out in force and steamrolling the competition. They will face NoMa who talked all the trash (or alternately, were the biggest cheerleaders) in their victory over Columbia Heights but just barely pulled out the victory on Monday over Dupont Circle. They'll all need to come back from that computer vacation against the formidable crew from Navy Yard. In today's second matchup, Brookland will face reigning champion Anacostia. U Street had a voting surge late in the game against Brookland, but it wasn't nearly enough to keep the quietly trending neighborhood from moving forward. Logan Circle put up a good fight early this afternoon, but the reigning champion had no problem holding them off and will continue the semifinals. Now, all of the neighborhoods from the Northwest quadrant have been eliminated.
