Curbed Cup First Round: (7) Anacostia vs. (10) Mt. Vernon Sq.

New, 3 comments

Today we have another round of voting for Curbed Cup 2013 and that means the polls for both of yesterdays bouts have closed and the winners, decided! As a reminder these rounds of voting leading toward this year's Neighborhood of the Year distinction will only last for 24 hours.

Last year's reigning champion, Anacostia, took some flack from the French government, but got a lot of love from the National Building Museum. Also, the H Street Playhouse moved in and rebranded as the Anacostia Playhouse. As a reminder, it also has one of the city's best murals by its metro stop.

They're facing Mt. Vernon Square, this year's biggest construction oasis. Behemoth project CityCenter DC has started leasing their apartments and has confirmed tenants Tumi and Kate Spade. The apartments at The Lyric have also started leasing and the Marriott Marquis close to the Convention Center finally announced an opening date next year.

Will last year's Curbed Cup winner start the path toward two in a row or will they go out in the first round? Vote now!
