Check Out These Arches On The New York Avenue Bridge

New, 4 comments

Anyone that's passed over the New York Avenue Bridge in the past few weeks will notice that there are two new leaf-inspired metal structures on the sides of the bridge. The name of the sculture, appropriately, is "Gateway Wings" and it sits on top of the bridge over the NoMa FedEx and next to the still-under-construction condo project Elevation. The sculpture from Connecticut artist Kent Bloomer was meant to be a grander welcome into the District (even though the entrance into D.C. is farther east on New York Avenue.) Do you think they did a good job?
