Residents of Trinidad, NoMa, Atlas District and Ivy City: your cinema desert is about to turn into a cinema oasis! An eight screen Angelika Film Center will rise up next to Union Market. This revelation comes not one week after Landmark announced that they would open a 10-screen theatre anchoring upcoming NoMa mixed-use development Capitol Point. Developer Edens has also expressed desire to build luxury condos on top of the Angelika Film Center. So basically, now Northeast residents will be able to enjoy artisinal cheese and foreign films in an area that three years earlier had housed overgrown grass and abandoned buildings.
